RV Description

Well, my beloved Orville is officially up for sale. Here are some photos of his complete renovation in 2022. This is a 1972 Winnebago Brave D20 with the hard-to-find 440 Mopar big block V8. It goes! Everything works except the ol' Coleman furnace, and not for lack of trying! Located in North Carolina. Available mid-May. I have all records of repairs/service/parts. Asking $25k and not in big rush; waiting for the right person to come along.

QUIRKS/TO-DOs (Hey, it's 53 yo!!) >>>

- Left headlight is often dim. It's been through 3 mechanics now. I give up. Maybe you're a great wiring detective!

- Likewise, there's a small oil leak right under the engine because he's an old man. Old men leak. Many mechanics have told me this. All seals and gaskets have been replaced, however.

- Fuel gauge kind of works: reading depends on whether you're going up or downhill. The two fuel tanks are nice to have! You'll get a feel for it.

- Gas tank does not have a floater (see above) to indicate fill level. If you put in the nozzle and walk away, gas will shoot out. You have to "feather" it in at a certain angle, which can take a few minutes. I got myself a HomeDepot bucket and sat on it while filling. Expect conversation while you try to monitor the level. I got a vented gas cap for it.

- You will become a local celebrity. People will wave, honk, flash their lights, and pull up next to you with questions like, "Hey, what year is that??" The Brave makes people happy. This camper is not for grumps. Selling only to friendly, happy people!

- Patch of interior paneling missing from upper wall in bedroom

- It's a good idea to have the ignition wiring harness checked for snugness at each service. Rarely it will jiggle itself loose.

- The left rear inner fender needs to be retacked to the frame. It's a little close to the tire.

- Exterior caulk could use some love in places.

WHY AM I SELLING ORVILLE? >>>

Because I spent 4 amazing but stressful/distracted years working and living in this camper. I saw the country, I met everyone, I had many adventures. I like where I am now in the NC mountains and want to stay around here.
